The Danish renewable energy developer said today that all three projects under the BuhaWind Energy Philippines partnership have been awarded a Certificate of Energy of National Significance (CEPNS) by the Department of Energy (DOE), recognising their potential to enhance energy security and deliver economic, environmental and technological benefits to the country.
BuhaWind Energy Philippines is a collaboration between Copenhagen Energy and PetroGreen Energy Corp, set up in 2022. It comprises the 2-GW Northern Luzon project and the East Panay and Northern Mindoro initiatives of 1 GW each.
In October, the trio obtained a Green Lane Certificate from the Philippine Board of Investments (BOI).
Northern Luzon is expected to be fully operational in 2030, Northern Mindoro targets commissioning in 2031, while East Panay is set to be switched on in 2033, according to the projects' website.
